DETAILS OF ACCIDENT.
Wellington Bomber 111 Z1681 took off from R.A.F. Lichfield at 18.50 for a night
navigation exercise. The plane returned to Lichfield at about 00.40 and
approached the airfield very low. In doing so, the Wellington hit a tree. The force
of this rolled the bomber over, killing 4 crew. There were 2 survivors.
