DETAILS OF ACCIDENT
Took off from Lichfield for night navigation training. During the flight, the bomber
began to lose height, the propellor came away from the came away from the
engine. Sgt. Poupard tried to land the aircraft and while doing this, he flew headon into some tree, two miles north of Chetwynd, about 3 miles away from the
airfield at Fradley. Sgt Poupard was killed and the other crew members were
injured.
